Happy Summer Solstice

Our cherry tree is loaded with cherries this year!  The picking will commence later this afternoon, now that we've been about ten hours without rain.

Oliver's pool, in his run, that he has yet to use due to all of the rain, but it's looking like this week may be a good week for him and his pool.

There's some artwork in the basket under him so I placed a piece of synthetic velvet (which he loves) atop the stack so it wouldn't become fuzzy.

Oliver Files Week Six - I Think

His favorite place in the house is the family room surrounded by his toys and with Angel of course.

Here he is still sorta damp after his walk in the pouring down rain.  I love his coat, like Angels it dries and very quickly.

We're still learning to not pick on Pepper, Thomas can hold his own and for the most part Oliver is scared of Thomas.

Last but not least, Thomas who still refuses to hang out in the family room since Oliver arrived, but it's only been six weeks and he's finally coming into the kitchen again.

Found out I have mono, which explains why I've been so tired of late, on top of a sinus infection and a pulled hamstring.  Sometimes life seems to pile up and in a big fashion.

Pepper and his chair! Right now I've parked my bookwork in the chair, on which he's decided to sleep.

When I woke him up and asked him if he wanted me to move Pepper so he could go to bed, all I got was "ummm". Needless to say they are still sitting in the chair, both sound asleep.

Spring has sprung and I opened the bedroom windows for Thomas' and Peppers enjoyment!

Cuban Black Beans and Rice served with Lime Roasted Pork Loin and Roasted Hatch Chili Pepper and Roasted Red Pepper Sauce.

Roasted Lime Pork Loin Roast - seasoned, after searing, with cumin, salt, pepper, and 2 limes.  Roasted in a dutch oven for two hours.

Roasted Hatch Chili Pepper and Roasted Red Pepper salsa that also has cilantro, sauted onion, garlic and my home canned tomatoes.

Pepper caught a mouse tonight, John came and took away from him as it was freshly dead and I really don't want any late night gifts brought to me while sleeping!   He was laying beside my chair playing, I thought with Thomas, but when I looked down there he was with a mouse!

I couldn't resist taking this picture of Pepper.

Cucumber Salad

Cut one peeled cucumber into quarters and slice thin. Add sliced/minced onion. Mix together with one eight cup of red wine vinegar. Season with salt and pepper mix well and enjoy!
